One of the extraordinary ironies of purchasing a new car is that a lot of them aren’t honestly new. The architectures now deployed below so many shiny clearcoats are engineered to ultimate for years upon years—decades in a few cases—so even motors billed as “all-new” often aren’t. This year’s Jetta stocks little but its name with the 2018 model. Beneath its crisp, conservative sheet metallic lies a sophisticated platform with an asterisk. Again, the exception is the GLI, which has a multi-hyperlink impartial rear suspension.

Jetta SEL and SEL Premium trim feature four drive modes, something oddly missing from the sport-styled-but-not-sporty Jetta R-Design trim. Set to Sport, the Jetta’s steering firms up well whilst pushed through a curvy road while remaining brief and mild in a parking lot.

The 2020 Volkswagen Jetta is a small sedan presented in five trim levels. The S is fairly bare-bones, but it does consist of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto cellphone integration. The SE adds a set of safety systems that are non-compulsory at the S, plus a few quality-of-lifestyles improvements. The R-Line is the sport-themed model, at the same time as the SEL and the SEL Premium add extra luxury-oriented functions.
